Team challenges may be set up for a partner or group team to challenge each other over a set period of time or to reach a specified number of points.

A team must be active for challenges to be available. For a team to be active it must have 2 active team members. Each team can have multiple challenges set up at the same time.

The invitation is sent to the Team Leader who can accept or reject the invite. Once the invite has been accepted, team members will be able to begin earning points based on the qualifier set for the challenge.

Types of Challenges

Two types of challenges can be created for a team. Each are described below:

Time Challenges

These challenges start on a specified date and time and end on a specified date and time. The challenge will end precisely at the end date time set.

Important: If the team member does not sync their device or manually enter their data on time, then the activity will not be reflected for the challenge and can result in a loss. It is important to sync the device and enter data on time.

Point Challenges

These challenges start on a specified date. Team members must reach a defined number of points by that date to be the winner.

The team with the highest points is the winner. If team members do not sync or enter their data, the points will not be awarded and it will be considered a loss. Points are earned regardless of the user level.

Important: The points can only be achieved when a team member syncs their data or enters it manually (based on the type of challenge)

How Are Points Calculated?

Points are calculated based on the qualification set by the Program Admin for the given challenge.

Example: Let's say the team is participating in a step challenge. Each team member needs to achieve 10,000 steps per day to earn one checkpoint. If the team member achieves 7,000 steps, then they will not receive a checkpoint. They must achieve the challenge goal of 10,000 steps to receive the checkpoint.

The Challenge Message Center contains a qualification for every challenge that specifies what qualifies to earn a checkpoint. The qualifier to receive checkpoints is different for each type of challenge.

Check the Challenge Message Center on the Wellness Challenges Page to learn more about the qualifications for a challenge.

This can be viewed by clicking on the Wellness Challenge Widget within the Home Page.

The weekly chart on the Wellness Challenges Page can be used to see what activity qualifies and does not qualify each day for a checkpoint. On this chart, you will see the qualifier, qualifying points, and non-qualifying points. Qualifying points count toward the team challenge.

Only the qualifying points for the individual count for the team. If the individual is a member of a partner and a group team, then the qualifying points count for both teams.

Note: If the team member does not sync or manually enter their data on time, they will not receive their points and this could result in a loss.

Once the challenge ends, the system will close the challenge and all results will be tallied for the given challenge only. For every challenge, if the team structure needs to be changed or other changes need to occur, it will not impact the given challenge.

Example: A team completes the challenge, it is closed, and the results are tallied. The team roster may be changed or the team may be modified without impacting the closed challenge. These changes will apply to the next added challenge.

Troubleshooting FAQ

Why did my team lose, when my team had more points?

Why did my team lose, when my team had more points?

Challenges are time sensitive. If you do not sync device data or manually enter your data on time, then it will not count toward the challenge.

If the data is submitted on time, you will win. It is important to make certain that everything is saved as soon as it is achieved.

Whoever has the highest points in the system wins the challenge.
